This type of space was traditionally used by artists and architects, who have to some extent abandoned it for the more standardised vision of office. The architects attacked the basic failings of the existing space by creating a interplay of levels and opening up floors to allow maximum penetration of natural light from the limited area where windows and rooflights were possible".
