New Edinburgh Cycling Complex
The Scottish Executive is set to fund a £10m indoor velodrome in Edinburgh, to complete in 2008 or 2009 and be located in either Craigmillar or Sighthill. The intention is that it will be superior in quality to the Manchester velodrome, where members of the British team are currently based.Refurbished

Right of Appeal
Ministers look set to shelve plans to give objectors an extra right of
appeal against developments in their area. Instead, the Scottish Executive is looking at root and branch planning reform, with added safeguards for communities, after an intense lobbying battle between business and environmental campaigners.

Thirteen Scottish students win scholarship to live and study in Florence for three months.
The John Kinross Memorial Fund was established in 1982 by Mr JB Kinross CBE, HRSA in memory of his father, John Kinross RSA, a renowned architect who was greatly influenced by Florence. The fund is intended to assist young artists and architects in Scotland, within the disciplines of Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking and Architecture. The John Kinross Scholarship is open to students from the four main colleges of art and six schools of architecture in Scotland.
Kirkgate: More Refurbishment
Leith’s historic Kirkgate is set to receive a £457k refurbishment, as part of a £2.65m scheme to regenerate the area.
Royal College of Surgeons Extension
The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh has had detailed plans
granted for a £5m university alteration in Edinburgh. The contractor
is the Peter Walker Group.
Affordable Homes: £1/2 Billion
A ten year edinburgh housing funding package of more than half a billion pounds to help deliver up to 10,000 new affordable homes, modernise existing council
homes and regenerate deprived parts of Edinburgh has been announced.

Napier University’s Craiglockhart campus is complete
