Coalhill Phase 2, Leith, Edinburgh

Coalhill Phase 2 is the concluding phase in the overall regeneration exercise undertaken by Buredi adjacent to the Water of Leith. 39 residential apartments of varying styles and types with secure parking have been designed by award winning firm Allan Murray Architects.

Mitchell Street Lofts, Glasgow – Vienna Apartments

Vienna Apartments

Situated in the heart of Central Glasgow and overlooking the Lighthouse this development provides a total of 70 apartments. Named the Vienna Apartments by the architect – Gordon Murray – the idea comes from the proximity of Mackintosh buildings, the Viennese School and the intrinsic qualities found, particularly in the refurbishment of the ‘B’Listed buildings.

Bells Mill, Edinburgh

The historic Bells Mill site near Edinburgh’s picturesque Dean Village will accommodate 24 new apartments in three separate blocks overlooking the Water of Leith. The remains of the water-powered mill – a classically designed rubble-walled granary of the early 1800s – will be preserved and form an integral and important feature of the development. Equally Bells Mill House an 18/19th century simple classical property is being restored to its former glory.

The properties will be located within the Dean Conservation Area which forms part of the Edinburgh World Heritage Site and was historically Edinburgh’s largest milling settlement, benefiting from its riverside location. Since the 1970s the area has largely been regenerated through the introduction of new residential properties along with the opening of the Water of Leith Walkway which provides access routes going as far as Leith in the east and Balerno in the west.

Hawkhead Village, Paisley, south west Scotland

Hawkhead Hospital, Paisley was constructed in 1936 in the Modern Style and stands today as a historically and culturally significant group of buildings designed by Thomas Smith Tait – the most significant Scottish Architect of the inter-war period.

The buildings became surplus to requirements, and in some cases derelict, and are being restored and converted by The Burrell Company to highly individual homes.
