Scottish Capital – Guide to Architecture in southeast Scotland

Edinburgh Tour

We’ve selected what we feel are the key examples of Edinburgh Architecture. We aim to include buildings that are either of top quality or interesting, or ideally both. We cover completed buildings, new building designs, architectural exhibitions and architecture competitions across the Scottish capital.

Tour Guides trained as architects so no tartan, but plenty of architectural background

Walking Tours since 2001. The most popular walking tour is in the Old Town – we do a range of tours from 2 to 4 hours long and can vary the emphasis from traditioanl to contemporary buildings.

We can arrange accommodation for tours in contemporary quality hotels, dining in a range of good restaurants and suggested evening entertainment, ie the whole package for a fee. We can also provide walking tours information on programme, geographical areas and building types up to a year ahead of trips. For example a group of architects interested in a tour re innovative social housing could be provided with tailored information allowing a programme to be agreed prior to their visit. We can also arrange short talks by architects.

If you only have half a day we suggest you do the Old Town. If you have a whole day do the Old Town and the New Town. If you have transport we suggest you visit the ‘unmissable’ buildings in the full https://www.edinburgharchitecture.co.uk/bdgsinfo”>Edinburgh Architecture Tour
