The food, wine and service on the night we first visited was really excellent, but two subsequent visits have been less convincing. The interior of the restaurant is a subtle refurbishment of a rubble-walled shell. Addendum: a second visit for lunch was less enjoyable: we were the only diners in a cold dining room, the dishes were not as successful as the evening meal and the candlelit magic was gone; service was pleasant and the beef with red wine jus main course still the best on the menu. Postscript - April 2002: changed hands, renamed Bonars Reserve a table at Bonars Restaurant, Haddington: bonars@lineone.net please mention this page upon booking. no website located for Bonars Restaurant East Lothian Restaurants + Hotels Greywalls Hotel Duncur Road, Muirfield, Gullane +44 (0)1620 842144 The Waterside Bistro 1-5 Waterside adj.
