Dumbeg Homes Dumbeg Phase II, Edinburgh: Sustainable Housing Development Assist Architects open competition winners Client: Prospect Community Housing Location: Dumbeg Park, Westerhailes Strong mix of property size from 2 to 8 person units image from Assist Architects Information from ASSIST Architects Feb 2007: Project: 18 New Build Houses & Flats Project Value: £1,400,000 ASSIST Architects won an open competition to develop a Sustainable Housing Development for Prospect Community Housing at Dumbeg Park, Westerhailes. From our experience in social housing and community-based design, a site-responsive proposal was developed that exploits the benefits of the site, whilst addressing local community issues of security and privacy. Our knowledge of energy efficient building design has helped us produce a sustainably active proposal which addresses many of the issues currently required of Housing Associations today.
