Offices
The project reorganised and refurbished East of Scotland Water's headquarters
complex of buildings at Fairmilehead.

The original complex of buildings on the site dated from 1971 with a 1994
extension. The 1971 building, constructed of a reinforced concrete frame
with precast concrete floors and aggregate faced precast concrete cladding
panels, provided a mix of cellular accommodation with small parcels of
open plan space.
As part of the East of Scotland Water redevelopment, the two disparate
building styles were unified externally by overcladding the 1971 building
with silver anodised aluminium rainscreen panels. Internal subdividing
walls together with one of the original stairwells were removed to create
the maximum amount of open plan space.

An extension providing Visitors' Entrance and Meeting Rooms has been constructed
together with areas of infill building to further improve the amount and
quality of open plan space.

The East of Scotland Water building also incorporates a new staff deli
bar with associated kitchen facilities, covered cycle bays, staff showers
and a gymnasium.
