The Murrayfield ground was started in 1925 and the stadium building pictured above was completed in 1994. As well as Scottish Rugby Union games the building hosts concerts and at one point seemed destined to be Hearts FC temporary ground.

Tynecastle is the Heart of Midlothian football ground. Previously a new stadium by Italy’s Massimiliano Fuksas Architects had been proposed. Hearts FC had stated an intention to build a “top class European stadium”. The stadium capacity was due to increase from just 17,000 to 26,000.
