RSA Annual Exhibition 2007 : Architecture Information + Images
This year there are 17 architecture students in the show Royal Scottish Academy : PR 29 Jan 2007 RSA STUDENT EXHIBITION 2007 Eilidh Henderson, Strathclyde University, 'Burrel framed' Section AA, Vision 1 – 100 (detail) Exhibition dates: 10 - 21 Feb 2007, RSA Upper & Lower Galleries Location: RSA Building, The Mound, Edinburgh Tom Turner, Mackintosh School of Architecture, 'Chinese Culture Exchange' (1 panel of 15) The RSA Student Exhibition is the largest of its kind in the UK and is open to all final year and postgraduate students from the main art and architecture schools in Scotland. Presenting around 300 artists in all 12 RSA Galleries and with over £9,000 in prizes and awards, it is a highlight of the academic and exhibitions calendar for both students and the public. The complete list of award winners will be announced next week. Tom Turner, Mackintosh School of Architecture, 'Chinese Culture Exchange' (1 panel of 15) Dedicated to showcasing the breadth of Scotland's emerging talent, there is no selection process - every student may participate! With such a wide range of work exhibited, including painting and drawing, photography, sculpture and installation, printmaking, video, sound works, architecture and performance, it also offers a much-anticipated glimpse of the degree shows later in the year. Many of the prize winners subsequently achieve further support through RSA Scholarships, gaining recognition in their first but by no means tentative, year out of college. Previous winners at the RSA Students Exhibition have included Elizabeth Blackadder, Sir Robin Philipson and John Bellany to name but a few. To this end, the Exhibition is a rich source of interest for art collectors, gallery owners, art lovers, architects and designers eager to discover the cream of Scotland’s emerging talent.
