Design-led, Edinburgh based developer with big ambitions- require suitable candidates to work on detailed planning application for 200 home development near to Edinburgh.
We require Part 2 or qualified architect to assist with sketching, photoshop and 3d modelling tasks (sketchup used primarily- but Revit license also available). Good Autocad skills will also be required.
Contract period will be on a weekly basis and will run to end of September 2010- candidates should be able to start work as soon as possible.

Project Manager (Architectural Background) – Edinburgh – Contract Role - UK

We have an urgent requirement for an experienced Client Project Manager to work on an agency basis for a public sector body for a period of three months in the first instance.
Main duties will include:
Lead a multi-disciplinary project group (internal and external advisers, consultants and contractors) and hold regular liaison meetings with contractors, external consultants and other parties regarding design, housing mix and site layout.
Contribute to the development of contract documentation.
Advise on compliance by contractors and the Council with legislative and procedural requirements, e.g. health and safety, building regulations, contract conditions.
Monitor spending and budget control; monitor and control the service provided by consultants to ensure that terms of reference and specifications are met regarding design, quality, timescale and health and safety.
Carry out and report on risk appraisal for all phases of housing development in terms of contracts, partnerships and financial arrangements.
Other duties may include assisting the Client Project Co-ordinator with a range of programme-wide tasks such as programming.
We require someone with extensive housing experience gained, for example, in a housing association, a local authority or other public sector body or in private architectural practice. You must have good motivational skills. Knowledge of formal project management regimes and the ability to use Microsoft Project are not essential but would be advantages.

JOB RUNNING ARCHITECT AND TECHNICIAN REQUIRED - CONTRACT POSITIONS
We have an urgent requirement for a very experienced Technician and a qualified Architect for an immediate start for one of our clients.
The work mostly involves small to medium-sized education projects. Typically these range from the complete re-design of a sports facility to alterations and extensions to primary and secondary schools.
You must be capable of working automously, have good client/contractor skills, be used to working on site and have excellent knowledge of current building regulation. You should also be fully AutoCad literate and be capable of producing full drawings.
This post is initially for a minimum of 3 months weeks but may be extended. You sould also have access to your own transport. Any recent schools experience would also be ideal.

Senior/Associate Level Architect - Edinburgh

Our client is an established Architectural practice who is looking to recruit a Senior Architect to head up their upcoming Edinburgh office.
They are in the process of finalising the details of the purchase of an established small practice and they are looking to appoint a senior candidate who has extensive local knowledge and experience in the Edinburgh and Scottish market to head up the office.
You will be a Part III qualified Architect and it is likely you will have a minimum of ten - fifteen years post Part III experience. Our client is looking for architects who can demonstrate experience in managing a team of staff; however more importantly is the ability to deal effectively with clients as this will be an integral part of the role.
Ideally you will already have direct experience of managing an office however we would also consider applicants who have gained good team management experience in a larger organisational setting. Crucial is a strong local/Edinburgh knowledge, and experience of dealing with the relevant statutory bodies.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong track history of building and developing client relationships, and be able to bring a strong local presence and knowledge to the practice.
We are looking for candidates with a good even mix of project experience, and you will have knowledge of a variety of building types, the ideal candidate will have retail, residential, healthcare and education experience, all candidates should also have strong experience of dealing with private sector developers. Candidates whose experience is solely in one sector will be unsuitable for this position, as will candidates from outside of the local area.
Candidates must be able to start work this year and ideally in around 2-3 months time. A strong character, good leadership skills and excellent communication and people skills are essential for this role. Applicants must be able to deal effectively with external clients at all levels.
Please note that we are age positive and would welcome applications from suitably qualified and experienced Architects who are at the tail end of the careers and looking to retire within the next few years.
