1. Introduction
Edinburgh
Contemporary Architecture - run by Adrian
Welch & Isabelle Lomholt - own and operate two websites:-
www.edinburgharchitecture.co.uk + www.glasgowarchitecture.co.uk.
The former started early 2000; the latter in summer 2002.
The websites are maintained on a daily basis. |
2. Business Overview
|
What can the
website offer potential sponsors?
The Edinburgh & Glasgow sites now average over 2.5 million hits
per month [Nov 2005] and rising fast: more detail available by e-mail
request.
The cheapest way of gaining a presence is to be listed on the architecture
links page. The fee is £40 per annum, or £45 for
Edinburgh Architects
on their own page linked off both links, and importantly, off the
homepage.
Alternatively, sponsor a page, as a simple live logo link or as
a logo linked to your own company profile page. For example, the
Edinburgh
news page is sponsored by Tangram Furniture.
Simply e-mail your logo and upon payment the link can be up within
24 hours.
Any advertisment / sponsorship can be tailored. As a guide, only
live linked logo prices are listed below with logo maximum pixels
provided:-
HOMEPAGE
Sponsorship of £350 or over provides a live-linked logo on
the home page.
200 x 60h: £500+
160 x 40 h: £400+
70 x 30 h: £350+
For comparison the logo below is 160 x 22 h
For comparison the logo below is 160 x 40h
The width of 160 pixels is strongly preferred to keep the homepage
design consistent. The rates have not gone up since early 2004 despite
the huge increase in traffic.
NEWS PAGE
the edinburgh news page has already
been purchased July 2003
EVENTS PAGE
Sponsorship of £250 or over provides a live-linked logo
on the edinburgh events page.
160 x 40 h: £300+
100 x 30 h: £250+
INTERIORS PAGE
the interiors
page is available, ideal for furniture/lighting companies
ALL OTHER PAGES
Sponsorship of £150 or over provides a live-linked logo on
a typical page.
additional book pages sponsorship costs £10 per page.
160 x 40 h: £200+
100 x 30 h: £150+
Sponsorship of the same page on both sites provides a 20% total
reduction.
The Edinburgh & Glasgow sites are listed on over 450 websites
across the World.
Search engine listings: the Edinburgh site is in the top 3 currently
for ‘contemporary architecture’ searches on most top search engines
and has been No. 1 for many years, but recent google algorithm changes
affect this. The Edinburgh site is also No. 1 for numerous searches
from Edinburgh Architects to Edinburgh Architecture.
This could be a useful way of breaking into, or augmenting presence
in, the Scottish market.
|
3. Mission
AIMS:
The sites aim to inform both locals and an international audience
of Scotland's buildings and current construction projects.
The News pages aim to create the key forum for discussion/communication
of topical issues, new buildings and masterplans in Scotland.
The websites are focused on contemporary architecture but aim to form
a key national architecture resource for all buildings.
CONCEPTUAL & PHYSICAL MODEL:
The website is envisaged as a compact online resource.
www.edinburgharchitecture.co.uk + www.glasgowarchitecture.co.uk are
two of the World's key Architecture Centres. Centres need not be physical:
for example North Architecture (North-East England) is an online resource. |
4. Market Place
Hits
originate from many countries: approximately 7% come from overseas.
There are over 450 inward-looking links to the sites.
The sites rank high - often 1st - for key searches, and is currently
in the top 5 for 'edinburgh architecture' and 'contemporary
architecture' (to name but two) on the World's largest search engine,
google.
Details such as ranking per page can be supplied on request. |
5. Summary
|
The sites'
Tours, News, Events and databases form a key resource and forum
for Scottish Architecture and Construction. The traffic growth on
the sites is massive and the regular maintenace of the many pages
assists this.
