G2 is the headquarters for the HQ Company (serviced office accommodation): two 'sheared' blocks with glazed interconnection in simple white render and quality materials inside; sits between G3 by Page & Park Architects and Allan Murray Architects' G1.
Lochside House's design was generated by the need to provide capability for subdivision into very small office units or open-plan offices. The Z-plan form ensures that all offices benefitted froim natural light and ventilation, and the limited external space was maximised for usage. Originally a speculative venture, the G2 building was purchased during construction and became the first serviced office in Scotland by the HQ Company.
HQ Offices were also due to be the tenants of Edinburgh Park's later A2 building.
