Gayfield Square - Building

Townhouses & Gallery by Oliver Chapman Architects, Scotland

Gayfield Square, Edinburgh

Gayfield Square proposals

Four three storey townhouses and gallery by Oliver Chapman Architects on Gayfield Square (the street extending beyond the square itself to the south).

OCA converted the former tyre garage on the awkward shaped site into a gallery, doggerfisher run by Susanna Beaumont, and artist studios in 2000.

The town houses have mostly first floor double height living rooms. The end house is raised a storey above the parking, which is tucked away and accessed from a side lane, and its living room looks south back towards the square.
