| Goblin Ha Hotel Main Street, Gifford Phone: +44 (0)1620 810244 Location: centre of the village, north side of High Street If driving from Edinburgh you can exit the A1 at Haddington and drive 10 mins south ![]() Oct 2009 Our latest visit to the Goblin Ha Hotel found really good friendly service, and solid menu. However the food didn't hit the high notes. The steaks weren't really tasty and a little chewy. New potatoes came plain with no butter, parsley, etc. The ice cream brownie cake also lacked taste and felt like it had been made too far in advance. The place was busy though which shows they must be doing something right, certainly the atmosphere is warm and the staff looked after us on the night so we continue to recommend the Goblin Ha. Jun 2008 New ownership in 2008, we risked a visit and found it back to normal, friendly service, a fairly substantial and interesting menu (not just country pug grub), clearly the managers are making a real effort, now recommended again Feb 2007 New ownership, service dreadful when we visited, no longer recommended Previously: We've eaten here many times and keep going back, the food is fairly traditional and service variable but the setting is great - choice of bar or conservatory in a pleasant East Lothian village. Alternative: Tweedale Arms Hotel High Street, Gifford +44 (0)1620 810240 ![]() Mar 2007: service/food poor when we visited, though many locals speak highly of this place Gifford : Buildings East Lothian Restaurants Comments on / Reviews of Restaurants: info@edinburgharchitecture.co.uk Edinburgh hotels Missoni Hotel Edinburgh West Lothian Restaurants East Lothian house Edinburgh Restaurants Buildings / photos for the Goblin Ha Hotel Gifford pages welcome: info@edinburgharchitecture.co.uk Goblin Ha Hotel Dining Review : page - adrian welch / isabelle lomholt |
