Best 10 Air Jordan 4 Colorways

17 May 2023

As many of you reading this article know, rapper Dave is a sneakerhead. In his new-ish song Clash (ft. Stormzy), the artist declares he’s only interested in Jordan 4s and Jordan 1s right now. As a result of the rapper’s shoutout, both basketball sneaker silhouettes have become even more sought after.

Best 10 Air Jordan 4 Colorways

Obviously, the Air Jordan 4 is one of the rarer Nike sneakers of the two; however, if the hype surrounding the shoe continues, we expect it to become just as ubiquitous as the Air Jordan 1 model. Therefore, if you haven’t already, why not get ahead of the game and grab yourself a pair?

In the following article, we have compiled a list of the top 10 Air Jordan 4 colorways available on Hypeunique, starting with the Air Jordan 4 ‘Fire Red’ and going all the way up to the Union x Air Jordan 4.

1, Jordan 4 Retro Travis Scott Cactus Jack

Currently, we are lusting after everything Travis Scott touches, including this pair of Air Jordan 4 that the rapper designed back in 2018. The sky blue hue that adorns the upper pays homage to the Houston Oilers (the artist’s favorite American football team, FYI) and the logo that appears on the inner sole of the shoe and the heel of the shoe refers to Scott’s record label Cactus Jack.

2, Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Military Blue’

Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Military Blue’ 2012 is a variation of the 1989 Off-White/Military Blue colorway. Featuring a white leather upper with Military Blue and Natural Grey accents, the sneaker was released in August 2012. The tongue and heel feature Jumpman branding.

3, Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘purple Metallic’

As part of the Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Purple Metallic’ pack, the classic mid-top silhouette is highlighted by a simple two-tone color scheme. With its pristine white leather build, the sneaker is accented with violet pops of contrasting color on the molded eyelets, visible Air sole unit, and exterior branding, including the Jumpman logos on the woven tongue tag and heel.

4, Air Jordan 4 Retro Union Guava Ice

A vibrant take on the classic Air Jordan 4, the Union LA x Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Guava Ice’ is the follow-up to their Air Jordan 1 collaboration from 2018. Taking cues from an original Tinker Hatfield sketch, semi-translucent TPU wings provide structural support. Soft pink suede and breathable mesh are used on the upper. On the lateral quarter panel, there is a yellow Union tab, Nike Air on the back heel, and a woven Air Jordan tag atop the tongue.

5, Air Jordan 4 Retro Lightning

In the Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Lightning’, the ‘Thunder’ colorway was also released in 2006, inspired by Michael Jordan’s Motorsports team. It was originally released in 2006 with an accompanying ‘Thunder’ colorway. A bright yellow hue floods the nubuck upper, contrasting with black netting and dark gray structural wings. Gray accents land on the woven tongue tag, interior tongue and Jumpman branding at the heel. A dark grey herringbone rubber outsole rides over a white PU midsole with visible Air sole cushioning.

6, Jordan 4 Retro Motorsports

For MJ’s fourth anniversary of Motorsports Racing, MJ created a friends and family colorway inspired by the Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Motorsports’. The sneaker, which was released in March of 2017, incorporates the team’s white, black, and varsity royal blue colors, but removes the Mars Blackmon heel accent from the 2006 sneaker. The Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Motorsports Alternate’ was released a few months later in black.

7, Jordan 4 “taupe Haze”

This retro Air Jordan 4 ‘Taupe Haze’ features a subtle colorway based on the 1989 design by Tinker Hatfield. The upper is constructed from textured suede, with cracked leather on the collar, tongue, and mudguard. Infrared jumpman icons are rendered on the tongue tag, matching the interior lining of the tongue. Contrasting black hits land on the laces, plastic wings and heel tab, the latter marked with an embossed Jumpman logo. A two-tone PU midsole provides lightweight cushioning, with visible Air in the heel and encapsulated Air in the forefoot.

8, Air Jordan 4 SE “Black Canvas”

This Air Jordan 4 Retro SE ‘Black Canvas’ features a neutral color scheme similar to Eminem’s Carhartt x Air Jordan 4. It is made from black canvas with tonal suede overlays and grey molded eyelets. A matching grey Jumpman decorates the back heel and woven tongue tag, which is accented with a crimson Flight logo for a sharp burst of contrasting color. Two-tone polyurethane midsoles cushion the heel with visible Air-Sole.

9, A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 4

Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Violet Ore’ by A Ma Maniére takes the legacy silhouette to the next level. The Atlanta-based retailer dresses the mid-top in a muted purple nubuck upper, accented with tonal quarter panel netting and a decorative chrome rivet embedded in the lateral collar. An A Ma Maniére logo is raised on molded black heel tabs, while woven Flight tongue tags display mismatched Jumpman and A Ma Maniére branding. This sneaker rides on a cream-colored polyurethane midsole with visible Air-sole cushioning in the heel. A quilted textile lines the collar and insole for a comfortable fit.

10, Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘green Metallic’

This Air Jordan 4 Retro is part of a four-piece Metallic Pack that includes one accent color. This sneaker’s metallic green hue is only visible on the sneaker’s molded eyelets, interior tongue, and the Jumpman logos on the heel and tongue tag. Those elements stand out against a pristine all-white leather build, featuring standard Air Jordan 4 details such as quarter-panel netting, a visible Air sole unit and an extended pull tab at the heel.
