Situated at entry to Edinburgh Park the BT building consists of a rectilinear block with an attached red-coloured block (within a skeletal drum) facing the Gyle Broadway.

The materials inside are restrained and of high quality, and the building is helped by informal water landscaping to the front by Ian White Associates.

The red block to the East (café below, plant on top) sheathed in a circular foil of brise soleil marks the main entry to the Park; five atria plus a triple-height ‘street’ form the main building’s spaces.
Alexander Graham Bell House represents a serious attempt to produce a passively-ventilated building without losing architectural repose: it follows on ideas from Powergen Headquarters in Coventry, also by Bennetts Associates.
